Superstar Mohanlal had been quite famous for his crooning abilities. Many of his films of the nineties used to feature a song sung in the superstar's rustic voice, which were all well received by the audience.

But very few did have listened to Mammootty's untrained voice, when it comes to singing. He had sung one 'Puliyo Pulipuliyo’ for his movie 'Pallaavoor Devanarayanan' which came out in the late nineties.

And before this movie, Mammootty had once lended his voice for a children's song album. Now after more than half a decade from his last playback singing experience, Mammootty is once again in this not so familiar terrain, singing a Chavaittu Natakam based song for his latest movie 'Kuttyshranku' with renowned director Shaji N Karun.

Isaac Thomas Kottukapally is the music director of the movie which has an entire big episode on the backdrop of Chavaittu Natakam -the folklore dance drama of Northern Kerala.

Shaji N Karun has already shot the visuals of this song which starts with 'Karikkutty...ente kalel', performed on screen by the Mammootty and Suresh Krissna.
